Instructions for the use of Tampere Teekkari cap:
The Teekkari cap is the symbol of a Teekkari.
The cap must not be given to anyone who does not have the right to wear it.
The cap may only be worn by a Teekkari with a clear conscience, who has been dipped in the Tammerkoski river.
The cap may be freely worn between the first of May and the last day of September.
The cap is worn for the first time during Wappu at midnight in connection with the capping of the Suomenneito statue or a similar statue.
At other times, the cap may only be worn with the permission of the Teekkari Union of Tampere's board or an authorized representative.
The cap is worn either on the head or on the right shoulder, with the tassel (naturally) positioned at the front.
Attire must be appropriate and sufficient for the occasion, in line with the dignity of the cap.
The cap must be kept in good condition at all times and should only be used to drink champagne. If champagne is not available, let sparkling wine be deemed worthy of the title.
In a state of excessive inebriation, it’s best to hide the cap to protect its reputation.
The Teekkari cap is considered almost sacred to a Teekkari. However, it’s not meant to collect dust on a shelf, but to be used actively and with dignity.
